I’m on a Mission…
It’s all well and good to create products and launch them. You’ll bring in some cash in that first week or two as everyone wants to grab the new stuff at the lowest price. But what happens when the glow fades, and the launch lights get turned off?
If you’re not constantly creating new products, you’ll never be able to build a sustainable income because you rely too much on those big launch bursts to get you through. Now, before you yell at me about this, let me just say, I know that the launch process works, and I know people who make a ton of money like this.
But… you have to be willing to subject yourself to a certain amount of stress to constantly be producing and promoting and running on a bit of a “launch-week high” in order to get through.
And that’s not really for me. I’d much rather build my products, quietly launch them, and then leave them in my store to attract new buyers.
And how, you ask, will I do that?
The answer is… content marketing, through a combination of blogging and email marketing with a dash of social media marketing thrown in for good measure.
When you create great content, you open a lot of doors to your products and services without having to do the high-stress launch process.
You can promote your content and link to your products within.
You can email your list to tell them about your new content and never have to mention the things you have for sale.
You can create free stuff to give away and build out a funnel behind it that make purchasing the next step in the process a natural step for your new subscriber.
And, you can promote other people’s products that fit with your own marketing message and that give your people what they need and what they want.
But, it’s hard to do any of that without content. So, while I’m working away on my big, audacious goal of creating 1000 journals and planners by December 31, I’m also going to be adding more commercial use products to my store and focusing on using content to market it all.
My mission with this new blog, then, is to show you that content marketing works, and works well. I’ll be building my publishing business in the least stressful way possible for me, and I’ll share all that with you here and in my new Daily Marketing Tips email list.
